Anahita Shahmati
Ani Shahamati, born in 1993 in Tehran, is an Iranian multidisciplinary artist based in her hometown. A medical doctor by training, she graduated from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences in 2020. She has also devoted herself to exploring various artistic mediums such as painting, video, photography, installation, and floral design.
Her work draws on a dual source of inspiration: on the one hand, the biological structures and systems of life that she knows intimately thanks to her medical training; on the other, an aesthetic nourished by a contemporary plastic sensibility. This combination gives rise to organic works, both concrete and abstract, evoking artifacts from an unknown animated world. Her creations, often immersive, are expressed through hybrid textures and forms that seem to grow, proliferate, or decompose.
Since 2020, Ani has presented her work in several galleries and art spaces in Iran and internationally. She pursues an experimental practice that seeks to blur the boundaries between art, science, and the body.

Tentation
